I would be happy to come to your school or library to take part in family literacy events, or present in-service programs for teachers or librarians. I do author visits as well. ₵entennial on a $hoestring Based on my book READiscover New Mexico – A Tri-Lingual Adventure in Literacy, I will share the various NM-themed activities in the book for children, teens and families, including crafts, bibliographies, recipes, holiday traditions, etc. I’ll  include New Mexico trivia, related websites, and riddles. I’ll talk about the new Centennial license plate and showed how people (and kids!) can make their own personalized version using reproducible patterns in the book plus a supplemental handout that I will provide. Since New Mexico was the 47th “star” on the US Flag, I’ll how to make “Star-o-Litos.”  Biscochitos optional!

This program is based on my course offered by the UNM Division of Continuing Education in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007. It can be geared for children or adults.
